Sean Reaney is Vice President of Construction at Nautilus Solar Energy, where he leads the full construction life cycle of solar projects—from early development through final compl. With over 35 years in construction and more than a decade in solar, Sean brings deep expertise and a passion for building impactful, resilient energy infrastructure.
His solar career began with large-scale federal projects, including work for the Department of Defense during the Iran-Iraq Wars, where he helped build major training facilities at 29 Palms and other military facilities that implemented solar installations to support the training facilities. That experience sparked his commitment to clean energy, eventually leading to roles at SunPower and, since 2016, Nautilus.
Sean finds daily inspiration in knowing his work helps make the world a little better. He’s especially passionate about the potential of community solar to expand energy access and build more equitable communities. Known for his open-minded and flexible leadership style, he encourages innovation and continuous improvement across his team.
Based in Austin, Sean enjoys the city's rich food and music scene. He holds a B.S. in Mining & Mineral Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
