Jeffrey Cheng is the Chief Executive Officer of Nautilus Solar Energy, where he leads a mission-driven team dedicated to expanding access to clean, reliable energy through community solar. Under his leadership, Nautilus has grown into one of the nation’s largest owner-operators in the community solar sector, serving communities across the country with a presence from coast to coast. But for Jeffrey, the true measure of success isn’t just growth—it’s delivering long-term, equitable impact to individuals who have traditionally been left out of the clean energy transition.
Before joining Nautilus, Jeffrey served as CEO of Stion Energy Services, where he spearheaded the company’s expansion into large-scale commercial and utility-direct solar projects. He also held senior roles at Regenesis Power and in investment banking, closing over $5 billion in financing and M&A transactions. His background in infrastructure finance informs Nautilus’s long-term ownership approach, ensuring every project is built to last and operated with care.
Jeffrey holds a J.D. from Loyola Law School and graduated with honors from the University of Southern California. He serves on the Board of Nautilus Solar and is a leadership member of the Coalition for Community Solar Access (CCSA), working to advance policies that broaden participation in solar energy nationwide.
