Nautilus Solar Recognized with Environmental Service Award for Expanding Access to Affordable Solar Energy Across Maryland

SALISBURY, MD - [December 3, 2025] – Nautilus Solar Energy® LLC, one of the leading community solar developers in Maryland, has been awarded a 2025 Environmental Service Award for remarkable contributions to expanding clean energy accessibility across the state. Presented annually by the Salisbury Maryland Area Chamber of Commerce (SACC), the award is one of ten categories that recognize and honor the achievements and efforts of outstanding leaders and businesses throughout the Delmarva area.

As an early participant in Maryland’s community solar pilot program, the region continues to be a focus of growth and investment for Nautilus. The company’s close partnership with the local community combined with the economic and environmental benefits from their solar farms sets Nautilus apart and is a contributing factor to why the organization was nominated for this Environmental Service Award.

"The Chamber is proud to recognize Nautilus as this year's award recipient.  Nautilus is a forward-facing company adding critical clean energy inventory for Marylanders," said William Chambers, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce.

“Being recognized by the Delmarva Community, where many of Maryland’s first community solar projects were developed, means so much to us,” said Eric LaMora, Vice President of Community Solar. “Our projects are designed to serve Marylanders directly, through lower cost energy, local job creation, and our long-term community investment. We’re incredibly grateful to be part of this community and look forward to many years of continued partnership and support.”

Nautilus currently operates 55 MW of community solar projects in Maryland – 41% is dedicated to lowering energy bills for low-income households.  With plans to add 46 MW of additional capacity to Maryland’s energy grid through 2027, Nautilus’s investments will lower energy costs for thousands of local subscribers while helping the state meet growing energy needs.

Outside of clean energy development, Nautilus is also active in the community, supporting local organizations and events such as the Navy Midshipmen men’s basketball and lacrosse teams, the Delmarva Shorebirds minor league baseball team, and Salisbury University athletics.
