Governor Pritzker Celebrates Illinois Solar Energy Expansion at Nautilus Solar Ribbon Cutting

Illinois' Governor JB Pritzker joined Nautilus Solar Energy and Power Sustainable in Hampshire, Kane County—about an hour northwest of Chicago—to celebrate the opening of the 26-acre Highway 20 community solar farm. Featuring more than 12,000 solar panels, this project is expected to produce 10.7 million kWh of clean energy annually—enough to power 600 low-income households, local businesses, and a community park district.

Pritzker emphasized this milestone as a positive step in Illinois’ continued commitment to achieving 100% clean energy by 2050 and highlighted the state’s leadership in solar capacity since passing the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act in 2021.
