Nautilus Solar Energy (NSE) Community Solar Onboarding Associate will be responsible for managing overall community solar subscriber operations and coordinate closely with Nautilus Solar Solutions (NSE’s asset management arm) on subscriber management efforts for our community solar portfolio.  This position reports to the Community Solar Director.
 
 PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

Project/Subscriber Onboarding

  • Work closely with Community Solar Manager on Customer setup and initiation after the Service Commencement Date
  • Assist Community Solar Manager with various subscriber enrollment and verification tasks
  • Review and be familiar with various provider software platforms
    • Ensure all subscriber contracts and information are uploaded to platform prior to project commencement date
  • Support the Asset Management team on the set-up of bank accounts and project payment gateways prior to project commencement date
  • Oversee the submittal of initial subscriber lists to Utility
  • Ensure providers have access to the solar project’s data acquisition system to track project’s solar production 
  • Review project’s subscriber contracts and terms
  • Review community solar provider agreements and understand terms and payment schedules

Subscriber Management

  • Manage the ongoing Subscriber Management process and providers
    • Act as the main point of contact for Community Solar partners and assist with onboarding requests as needed 
    • Lead regular calls with providers to track operational issues and drive answers when needed
    • Oversee customer communications to ensure all subscribers are properly educated and notified of project milestones and/or any changes to their allocations
    • Ensure monthly reports from Community Solar partners are delivered in a timely manner
  • Work with the Portfolio Management team to manage reviewing of monthly reports and track customer churn
    • Support the Portfolio Management team in reviewing monthly reports and ensuring revenue details are correct
    • Oversee tracking and redistributing of accrued credits from unallocated generation, as allowed by Utility tariffs and processes
  • Oversee and resolve issues related to new projects coming online 
  • Ensure software platforms are up to date with the most current subscriber contracts and information

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 4 year degree required
  • Strong Excel, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interface with different levels and functions of the organization as well as with external parties such as banks, lawyers, customers and contractors
  • Ability to work independently in a team-oriented and fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

  • Community solar project/customer management experience, proven project reporting of financial, work and schedule progress

  • Proficiency with Project planning and Management Software, Microsoft Office 365 including SharePoint file management and Microsoft Dynamics CRM, PowerPoint, Excel and other similar software
  • Ability to review Schedules and Budgets for accuracy and completeness
  • 1-2 years of relevant project management experience (energy or related sectors); previous community solar experience desirable

 Nautilus Solar Energy’s (NSE) Associate, Corporate Finance will be responsible for the Company’s financial modeling, analysis and reporting needs. Additionally, the position will support the Company’s corporate and portfolio financings. The position requires an individual who is energetic, hardworking and detail oriented. The ideal candidate is a motivated, self-starter who possesses a commitment to excellence. The position reports to the Executive Director of Capital Markets and is located in Summit, NJ. 

 RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Revise, update, expand and maintain Company’s corporate financial model 
  • Prepare annual and 5-year budgets 
  • Work with all functional groups to accurately forecast project liquidity requirements 
  • Prepare variance reports for the Company’s management and Board, including using comparative analysis and review of trends/prior year results 
  • Develop, measure and report financial performance KPIs 
  • Assist in corporate and portfolio financings, including:
    > Dataroom management
    >
    CIM and other investor management preparation
    >
    Due diligence requests

 JOB REQUIREMENTS 

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience (investment banking, clean tech, energy or related sectors); previous solar experience desirable
  • Robust financial modeling skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Math/Econ/Finance/Engineering or related preferred)

Sr. Accountant, Asset Management position is open for an energetic, organized professional with an aptitude to work in       a renewable energy company in a highly entrepreneurial environment. The position will involve a multitude of responsibilities in all areas of financial accounting and reporting, yearend audit preparation, budget activities and compliance with the wide range of financial reporting requirements.

Accounting

  • Responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable of all portfolios under management.
  • Maintain general ledger processing; prepare and enter month end and other required journal entries.
  • Review and reconcile monthly transactions and balances for accuracy.
  • Responsible for onboarding new projects to an integrated asset management system.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and budgets.
  • Prepare work papers and various reports for external auditing.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and compliance to internal policies.

Reporting& Analysis

  • Assist in preparation of monthly management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives, including “Budget vs. Actual” variance reports of portfolios under management. Assist in providing follow-up of significant variances.
  • Assist with completion of the quarterly and annual reporting requirements to various parties.

Audits & Examinations

  • Assist with annual external audit and other examinations. Complete requested materials. Assist in preparing assigned schedules for the annual audit.

Administration and Compliance with financing agreements:

  • Ensure compliance with various reporting requirements of the projects’ financing agreements.
  • Monitor covenants and interact with the financial counterparties as needed.
  • Assist with the financial close of the financing transactions.
  • Contribute to the Company special projects as assigned.
  • One point of contact with all project counterparties including off takers, landlords, lenders, equity owners and government agencies
  • Administer obligations and responsibilities under the project agreements
  • Compliance with the regulatory and government requirements

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in Accounting strongly preferred. CPA preferred
  • Preferred 5 or more years’ experience in public accounting specifically with audit engagements
  • BIG 4 audit experience

The Nautilus Solar Energy, LLC (“NSE”) Associate General Counsel will be responsible for supporting the General Counsel to ensure quality, efficiency and consistency across all legal documentation and due diligence related to NSE’s solar project acquisition, development and financing transactions. The AGC position will report directly to the General Counsel who is located in the Los Angeles office.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide transactional assistance and support on a wide variety of solar acquisition, development and financing transactions, including managing project due diligence and negotiating MIPAs, site control agreements, term sheets/LOIs, NDAs, EPC agreements and other ancillary agreements required in connection with NSE’s active pipeline and deal-flow
  • Assist with title, survey and easement requirements of projects
  • Provide organizational support to managing outside counsel
  • Work with the General Counsel to ensure quality, clarity and consistency across all legal documentation

Requirements:

  • Ability to manage the requirements of several transactions simultaneously and the ability to focus on details while still seeing the larger transaction picture
  • An effective candidate will demonstrate sound solar acquisition and development knowledge, ideally in the community solar space
  • Superior organization and communication skills across multiple deal teams
  • Must be able to take initiative and actively seek guidance from the GC where needed
  • JD from accredited law school
  • A current license to practice in one or more US jurisdictions 
  • A minimum of 5+ years of legal experience focusing specifically on M&A transactions in Solar
  • Extensive experience with MIPA transactions in solar preferable
  • Solid experience in drafting and negotiating EPC agreements a plus
  • Real estate, title and survey experience a plus

Nautilus Solar Energy’s (NSE) Asset Manager, Operations will be responsible for managing the operations of NSE’s solar installations and directly support the ongoing operations of NSE’s generating portfolio. This position reports to the VP of Operations.

Using web-based monitoring tools, the Asset Manager will ensure that the operating portfolio is performing optimally.  The Asset Manager will also be responsible for supporting the development and construction of new solar generating assets. Travel typically less than 25%.  This position is in Summit, NJ.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

Operations

  • Monitor all NSE solar power plants daily, comparing output to expected, logging all alerts
  • Work closely with NSE’s monitoring partner(s) to continuously improve our capabilities and response time
  • Coordinate and track all required repairs
  • Prepare all Compliance Reports for NSE management and Financing Partners.
  • Help develop new requirements, specifications, best practices, and tools
  • Upload monthly system generation and track SREC activities

Maintenance

  • Manage Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Agreements for NSE’s generating portfolio.
  • Oversee monthly/quarterly/annual O&M activities, as required.
  • Develop tools, procedures and business relationships to help decrease NSE maintenance costs over time.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable warranties
  • Maintain the O&M log

Project Development and Management

  • Interface closely with the Project Development team during the pre-construction phase
