Nautilus Solar Energy’s (NSE) Portfolio Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the ongoing operations of NSE’s generating portfolio and supporting operations of NSE’s solar installations. This position reports to the Director, Portfolio Operations.Using web-based monitoring tools, the Portfolio Operations Manager will ensure that the operating portfolio is performing optimally.  The Portfolio Operations Manager will also be responsible for supporting the development and construction of new solar generating assets. Travel typically less than 25%.



  • Monitor all NSE solar power plants daily, comparing output to expected, logging all alerts, and dispatching O&M partners.
  • Work closely with NSE’s monitoring and O&M partners to continuously improve our capabilities and response time.
  • Coordinate and track all required repairs.
  • Prepare all Compliance Reports for NSE management and Financing Partners.
  • Help develop new requirements, specifications, best practices and tools.


  • Manage Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Agreements for NSE’s generating portfolio.
  • Oversee monthly/quarterly/annual O&M activities, as required.
  • Develop tools, procedures and business relationships to help decrease NSE maintenance costs over time.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable warranties.
  • Maintain the O&M log.

Project Development and Management

  • Interface with the Development and Structuring team during the pre-construction phase to support the analysis of new assets.
  • Interface closely with the Project Operations team during construction phase to support technical onboarding and project transition to the Portfolio Operations team at energization.


  • 4-year degree required, Technical degree highly preferred
  • Strong Excel, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interface with different levels and functions of the organization as well as with external parties such as banks, lawyers, customers and contractors
  • Ability to work independently in a team-oriented and fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to undertake complex tasks
  • Project oriented with a goal to complete assignments on time.

Nautilus Solar Energy’s (“NSE”) Associate, Finance, will be responsible for the NSE’s project finance modeling needs.  Additionally, the employee will support financing activities, including originating and executing debt and tax equity project financing.  The position requires an individual who is energetic, hardworking and detail-oriented.  The ideal candidate is motivated, self-starter, possesses a commitment to excellence. The position is located in Summit, NJ. 

Job Description:

Due Diligence

  • Respond to the bank’s diligence requests and questions in a timely and organized manner
  • Ensure that the project datarooms are in correct format and contain all applicable information 
  • Coordinate with the project development, construction and legal teams to achieve the above 

Project Models

  • Ensure that the correct financing assumptions are included in the project models
  • Ensure that the project information is complete
  • Flag any material deviations to the management to identify early financing risks

Investor, Board and Lender relationship

  • Prepare bank and Board presentations for projects and portfolios on as needed basis
  • Responsible for maintaining relationships with and providing information to investors
  • Prepare financing marketing material and participate in company’s business development 


  • Participate in and provide support to all phases of construction financing, including diligence, meeting funding CPs, preparing draw packages, compliance requests, etc. 
  • Support financing efforts both at the corporate and project level, including debt financing analysis, tax and cash equity investor return review, and project financing terms development
  • Provide insightful financial analytics to support the company business plan and annual budget, using comparative analysis and review of trends
  • Support development, construction and asset management teams with financial and risk analysis

Job Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience (investment banking, clean tech, energy or related sectors); previous solar experience desirable
  • Robust financial modeling skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player with strong desire to participate in dynamic work environment 
  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Math/Econ/ Finance / Engineering or related preferred) 
  • Ability to work independently as required
  • Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.
