Nautilus Solar Energy (NSE) Community Solar Manager will be responsible overall community solar subscriber acquisition and coordinate closely with Nautilus Solar Solutions (NSE’s asset management arm) on subscriber management efforts for our community solar portfolio.  This position reports to the Senior Director of Structuring.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

Subscriber Acquisition/Management

  • Work closely with the Nautilus Structuring/Development/Project Finance teams
    • Coordinate and provide relevant Subscription project information required for the acquisition and financing process.
  • Lead the overall community solar subscription transition/enrollment process and strategy
    • Develop and execute on new subscriber origination strategies
  • Manage and oversee providers for the subscription acquisition process
    • Negotiate subscription contracts and terms
    • Ensure Customer setup and initiation after the Service Commencement Date;
    • Ensure Customer information is accurate;
    • Verify Customers are eligible for the Community Solar Program with local Utility, based upon existing knowledge of Community Solar Program rules and conditions;
    • Ensure tracking and redistributing of accrued credits from unallocated generation, as allowed by Utility tariffs and processes.
  • Manage the ongoing Subscriber Management process and providers
    • Negotiate subscription contracts and terms
    • Provide updated lists of participating Customers by Renewable Energy System, based on changes to account status and as dictated by Utility tariff/PPA;
  • Work with the Asset Management team to manage the resubscription process

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 4-year degree required, Technical degree highly preferred
  • Strong Excel, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interface with different levels and functions of the organization as well as with external parties such as banks, lawyers, customers and contractors
  • Ability to work independently in a team-oriented and fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

  • Community solar project/customer management experience, proven project reporting of financial, work and schedule progress

  • Proficiency with Project planning and Management Software, Microsoft Office 365 including SharePoint file management and Microsoft Dynamics CRM, PowerPoint, Excel and other similar software
  • Ability to review Schedules and Budgets for accuracy and completeness
  • 3-5 years of relevant project management experience (energy or related sectors); previous community solar experience desirable
  • Legally entitled to work in the US

Position Summary

The Office Administrator is responsible for a providing a wide range of office management and support to the company including answering phone lines, scheduling/managing calendar, making/confirming meeting arrangements. Must be self-managed. Must be open to not only being an office administrator, but also supporting a CEO and President with travel arrangements, calendaring, expense reports, etc. Must be resourceful, an independent thinker, and self-sufficient as well as self-motivated. This position reports to the CEO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Managing and executing overall administrative activities for the office, including managing leases
  • Supporting CEO, President and COO in administrative duties
  • Managing the day-to-day office operations including housekeeping of office; purchasing office supplies, furniture, office equipment etc.; work with landlord in regard to issues like heat problems, water problems, general repairs in the office; and changing light bulbs and air fresheners, managing recycling.
  • Managing company vendors.
  • Supervises the maintenance of office equipment, including copier, telephones,
  • Performing administrative work such as filing, sorting, and distributing mail; assisting with the preparation of correspondence to clients

Nautilus Solar Energy’s (“NSE”) Associate, Finance, will be responsible for the NSE’s financial modeling and analysis needs, both corporate and project-based. Additionally, the employee will support financing activities, including originating and executing debt, sale leaseback and tax equity project financing. The position requires an individual who is energetic, hardworking and detail oriented. The ideal candidate is motivated, self-starter, possesses a commitment to excellence. The position is located in Summit, NJ.

Job Description:

  1. Dataroom Diligence
  • Ensure that the project datarooms are in correct format and contain all applicable information
  • Confirm the dataroom’s completeness and interface with the BDAs on missing items
  1. Project Information
  • Ensure that the project information is complete
  • Interface with the BDAs on missing items
  • Flag any material deviations to the management to identify early financing risks
  1. Due Diligence Requests
  • Respond to the bank’s diligence requests and questions in a timely and organized manner
  • Interface internally to obtain missing items
  1. Investor, Board and Lender relationship
  • Prepare bank presentations for projects and portfolios on as needed basis
  • Prepare investor and board presentations as requested
  • Responsible for maintaining relationship with and providing information to the board and investors
  • Prepare financing marketing material, and participate in company’s business development
  1. Corporate model
  • Assist in preparation of the annual corporate model and budget
  • Provide financial analytics to support the company’s business plan and annual budget, using comparative analysis, review of trends/prior year results
  • Ensure that the correct financing assumptions included in the project models
  1. Financing
  • Participate and provide support to all phases of construction financing, including diligence, meeting funding CPs, draw packages, compliance requests, ect.
  • Support financing efforts both at the corporate and project level, including debt financing analysis, tax and cash equity investor return review, and project financing terms development
  • Provide insightful financial analytics to support the company business plan and annual budget, using comparative analysis, review of trends/prior year results
  • Support development, construction and asset management teams with the financial and risk analysis

Job Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience (investment banking, clean tech, energy or related sectors); previous solar experience desirable

The Corporate Paralegalwill be responsible for supporting the General Counsel in a variety of transactional matters relating to the acquisition, development and finance of solar energy projects throughout the US, including matters of title and real estate, project acquisition, project finance and general corporate matters. 

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide general transactional and administrative support to General Counsel
  • Prepare initial drafts of various transactional documents and agreements
  • Draft corporate governance documents (resolutions, articles of formations, operating agreements, SPV formations)
  • Title and survey due diligence review and coordination
  • Prepare and manage closing checklists, coordinate the closing process for various acquisition and project financing transactions

Requirements:

  • 3 years relevant experience working as corporate or real estate transactional paralegal or project manager at a full-service law firm, or experience working for a title/escrow company
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational capabilities
  • Ability to work independently, plan and take initiative to accomplish objectives in a timely manner with minimum supervision
  • Title review experience a plus
  • Document management skills a plus

Nautilus Solar Energy’s (“NSE”) Business Development Analyst/Associate will be responsible for supporting the origination and development of NSE’s generating portfolio.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and lead development of solar transactions throughout the project life cycle, from identification of PV projects to the start of construction
  • Assist in the management of all aspects of the development, finance and construction activities related to a project including: project origination, site evaluation, project modeling and budgeting and construction contracting
  • Prepare investment reviews and investment memoranda
  • Lead the production of all required documentation in support of request for proposals/qualifications
  • Pro forma development and coordination
  • Prepare marketing material and proposals to support developers which includes cost savings analysis, customer revenue analysis and preliminary layouts/design using Helioscope
  • Monitor designated market regulations and policies and perform market analysis
  • Support the preparation and negotiation of project documents including: Power Purchase Agreements, Solar System Installation Agreements (“SSIA”) and Operation and Maintenance (“O&M”) Agreements
  • Assist with efforts as required in financing projects
  • Support the management of the SSIA and associated contractor during project construction as required
Requirements:
  • Solid understanding and passion for the solar industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrable ability to understand and communicate technical concepts
  • Excellent organizational abilities; able to focus on details while managing multiple projects
  • Able to excel in a highly entrepreneurial environment
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering or finance with solid understanding of analyzing project economics with Excel and the use of internal rate of return and net present value
  • Relevant graduate degree a plus
  • 2-3 years or more of relevant work experience preferred in the solar or finance industries
