Utility Consolidated Billing
As of January 2026, Maryland has moved to utility consolidated billing. Simply put, everything is combined with your utility company.
With utility consolidated billing, you receive just one monthly statement from Delmarva that includes:
- Community solar credits from your share of a Nautilus Solar farm, applied at a 10-25% discount (based on income-eligibility)
- Your remaining monthly electricity and delivery charges
Just keep paying your utility bill like normal and enjoy monthly savings on your electricity.
How does this work with your Delmarva bill?
On your Delmarva Power bill, you’ll see a section with your community solar details:
In the above example...
- The customer's share of the solar farm generated 9,062 kWh of energy during the month.
- Under the Electric Summary section, this energy was deducted at its full value ($2,084.48), then charged back at a 10% discount.
- The customer only owes $1,876.03 for this portion of their electricity.
- The monthly savings in this example are $208.45 (This customer has a big electricity bill).

What are solar credits?
Solar credits are the amount of solar energy generated in kilowatt-hours by a community solar farm. This energy is applied at a discount on your monthly utility bill.
Do I receive a Nautilus Solar statement?
No. Your community solar credits and savings appear directly on your Delmarva statement, which you'll continue to receive by mail or email as usual.
How does Nautilus Solar billing work?
When you enroll, no payment information is required. Delmarva applies your community solar credits and discount directly to your utility bill and pays Nautilus Solar on your behalf.
Why is no payment method required?
This is because your savings are directly applied to your monthly Delmarva bill. Payment information was only previously required with dual billing.
Do I qualify for a higher discount?
Low-to-moderate income (LMI) customers may qualify for a higher discount on monthly community solar savings. If you qualify for any of the following, you will be prompted to add this information during your enrollment:

What are banked credits?
Extra monthly energy generation is “banked” for use during months when your solar farm generates less. In the winter for example, this banked energy is automatically applied to your utility statements at a 10-25% discount to help balance monthly savings when there isn't as much sunlight.
You do not need to take any action to use banked credits.
Once a year, Delmarva pays out any remaining banked solar credits on your account at your Nautilus Solar discount.
