Utility Consolidated Billing is Coming

Simpler Billing for Maryland Begins January 2026

Great news! Starting in January 2026, Maryland community solar customers will move from dual billing to utility consolidated billing. No action is required on your part. 

Thanks to state legislation and partnership with your utility, Nautilus Community Solar customers will receive a single, consolidated bill directly from their utility, making the community solar experience simpler and hassle-free.

Your Questions Answered:

What is utility consolidated billing? 

Your community solar energy credits will show up directly on your utility bill. You'll only make payments to your utility company. Instead of paying Nautilus separately, your utility will pay us on your behalf.

When will I stop receiving bills from Nautilus Solar?

You'll continue to receive separate bills from Nautilus Solar for any remaining solar credits generated in 2025. This is due to the timing difference between your utility bill and Nautilus statements.

Around March 2026, you'll stop receiving separate Nautilus statements.  

In the meantime, you can always check the billing period on your Nautilus statements. Any credits from 2025 billing periods will still be billed directly from Nautilus.

Will I need to pay Nautilus anymore? 

Not directly. After the transition, you'll only pay your utility company each month. Instead, your utility will pay us on your behalf.

Is there an option to continue using dual billing? 

Not at this time. All customers will be transitioned over to utility consolidated billing, which provides a smoother and simpler customer experience. 

How will this impact my monthly savings? 

There's no impact on your solar savings. You'll continue to enjoy all the benefits of community solar and the same great savings—just without the hassle of paying two bills!
