Strategic Partnership Development Manager

Position Summary:

The Nautilus Solar Energy® Strategic Partnership Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and nurturing strategic partnerships with large corporations/organizations and businesses residing in Community Solar States/territories and will drive community solar subscriptions. Your primary focus will be on establishing and maintaining relationships with large employers, community organizations, and other key partners initially in Illinois, Maine, Maryland, and Delaware.

  • Identify and Evaluate Partnerships:
    • Identify potential partners aligned with Nautilus community solar subscription targets and goals.
    • Assess the long-term relationship value of potential partners.
    • Evaluate partnership opportunities based on potential for, strategic fit, market reach, and potential for partner employees, community members, and affiliates to enroll as subscribers.
  • Establish Partnerships:
    • Initiate and lead the development of a partnership outreach program with the goal of establishing and securing large scale enrollments.
    • Collaborate with the Nautilus marketing team to create partnership outreach material that is customized to each potential partner.
    • Structure and negotiate partnership agreements in coordination with Nautilus Community Solar goals.
  • Cultivate and Maintain Relationships:
    • Nurture strategic partner relationships to ensure that all parties honor their commitments throughout the partnership lifecycle.
    • Regularly engage with partners to continue to leverage the relationship.
    • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages open communication.


  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or equivalent experience
  • 5-7+ years of proven experience and results in national or regional scale strategic partnership development, establishing large-scale subscription or service-based partnerships, or Fortune 1500 business development.
  • Based in the Greater Chicago metro area.
  • Ability to travel 75+% of the time.
  • Proficiency in customer relationship management (CRM) software and related tools.
  • Working knowledge of Powerpoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a collaborative team-oriented and fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Awareness of and interest in renewable energy or community solar is an advantage but not a requirement.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing business needs.
  • A passion for building and nurturing business relationships.
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle.
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.
