Nautilus Solar Energy’s (“NSE”) Associate, Finance, will be responsible for the NSE’s financial modeling and analysis needs, both corporate and project-based. Additionally, the employee will support financing activities, including originating and executing debt, sale leaseback and tax equity project financing. Job Description:

  1. Dataroom Diligence
  • Ensure that the project datarooms are in correct format and contain all applicable information
  • Confirm the dataroom’s completeness and interface with the BDAs on missing items
  1. Project Information
  • Ensure that the project information is complete
  • Interface with the BDAs on missing items
  • Flag any material deviations to the management to identify early financing risks
  1. Due Diligence Requests
  • Respond to the bank’s diligence requests and questions in a timely and organized manner
  • Interface internally to obtain missing items
  1. Investor, Board and Lender relationship
  • Prepare bank presentations for projects and portfolios on as needed basis
  • Prepare investor and board presentations as requested
  • Responsible for maintaining relationship with and providing information to the board and investors
  • Prepare financing marketing material, and participate in company’s business development
  1. Corporate model
  • Assist in preparation of the annual corporate model and budget
  • Provide financial analytics to support the company’s business plan and annual budget, using comparative analysis, review of trends/prior year results
  • Ensure that the correct financing assumptions included in the project models
  1. Financing
  • Participate and provide support to all phases of construction financing, including diligence, meeting funding CPs, draw packages, compliance requests, ect.
  • Support financing efforts both at the corporate and project level, including debt financing analysis, tax and cash equity investor return review, and project financing terms development
  • Provide insightful financial analytics to support the company business plan and annual budget, using comparative analysis, review of trends/prior year results

Job Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience (investment banking, clean tech, energy or related sectors); previous solar experience desirable
  • Robust financial modeling skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player with strong desire to participate in dynamic work environment with steep learning curve
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Math/Econ/ Finance / Engineering or related) required

Responsibilities:

  • Originate Asset Management and O&M service opportunities with host customers in the US
  • Create channel markets and marketing relationships to effectively gain access to customers

Position is open for an energetic, organized professional with an aptitude to work in a renewable energy company in a highly entrepreneurial environment. The Maintenance Technician will report to the O&M Tech/Manager and provide diagnostic, troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance services to commercial and utility-scale PV system. The Maintenance Technician will be asked to assist in the commissioning of the solar array and monitoring systems during project installation. The ideal candidate has significant experience and understanding in the design and installation of PV systems. We are looking to hire someone who can help develop and grow our maintenance program. This position is in New Jersey or Massachusetts.

Responsibilities 

  • Performing required preventive maintenance activities on inverters to maintain warranty coverage
  • Responding to corrective maintenance cases on both commercial and utility PV systems – includes troubleshooting, testing, repairing activities and updating online case logs accurately
  • Working safely and in accordance with industry standard safety requirements
  • Report writing, where required, to comply with deliverables in O&M contracts
  • Working closely with members of Asset Management team to respond to open case directions and provide data where requested
  • Prioritizing conflicting work requests and escalations
  • Supporting the ongoing development and improvement of the Nautilus Solar’s O&M team
  • Provide advanced technical support for photovoltaic systems to customers
  • Meet with the customers after commission and walk thru to provide over view of the system, warranties, and service and monitoring
  • Create detailed documentation for replacement and warrantied equipment
  • Implement strategies to foster coordination between departments and significantly improve response time for repairs and maintenance

Qualifications

  • Extensive hands-on experience maintaining, and troubleshooting PV systems with central, string, micro inverters
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal); particularly in a customer-facing environment
  • NABCEP Solar PV Installer certification preferred.
  • Journeyman Electrician’s card or equivalent required to perform electrical work in the NJ, NY, MA
  • Greater trades experience in roofing or electrical a plus
  • Have a minimum of five years of PV installation and/or maintenance experience
  • Proficiency in installing all types of grid-tied inverters & able to work with various ground and roof mount racking systems
  • Understanding of the NEC codes that relate to PV installations
  • Must be very organized and be able to meet aggressive timelines
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, lift 100 pounds, and must be able to work on your feet for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in extreme environments, e.g. hot sun, below freezing, crawl spaces, etc.
  • Must be comfortable working with spreadsheets, word processing, and computer-based applications (e.g. time tracking, case management, etc.)
  • Comfortable making decisions independently and handling emergency situations with a calm and directed manner
  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment

The Corporate Paralegal will be responsible for supporting the General Counsel in a variety of transactional matters relating to the acquisition, development and finance of solar energy projects throughout the US, including matters of title and real estate, project acquisition, project finance and general corporate matters.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Title and survey review and coordination
  • Coordinate with title companies and surveyors to obtain clear title, final commitments, and policies
  • Prepare and manage closing checklists, coordinate the closing process for various acquisition and project financing transactions
  • Prepare initial drafts of various transactional documents and agreements
  • Draft corporate governance documents (resolutions, articles of formations, operating agreements, SPV formations)
  • Provide general transactional and administrative support to General Counsel

Requirements

  • Experience working as corporate or real estate transactional paralegal or project manager at a full-service law firm, or experience working for a title/escrow company

Nautilus Solar Energy’s (“NSE”) Project Associate will assist the Operations Team in executing solar generating projects during planning and construction phases to ensure goals/objectives are accomplished. Project Associate must be willing to travel based on project location(s), but shall be assigned to the Summit, NJ office. Work will require significant written communication and computing skills, and the ability to effectively work with technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the design, engineering, and construction of solar generating projects, including procurement, engineering oversight, budgeting, change management, field engineering, construction management, and project turnover to operations.
  • Develops and maintain project schedules, prepare construction cost estimates, oversee document control, prepare management reports, participate in the receipt and inspection of equipment and materials, prepare field reports during construction and other duties as assigned.
  • Provides and/or coordinates engineering support for development and permitting activities as needed.
  • Organizes regularly scheduled project meetings to facilitate, confirm and communicate status of progress and assign tasks.
  • Works with Asset Management to define and support the requirements for successful project turn-over.
  • Works as a team player with excellent written and oral communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management required.

Senior Accountant, Asset Management position is open for an energetic, organized professional with an aptitude to work in a renewable energy company in a highly entrepreneurial environment. The position will involve a multitude of responsibilities in all areas of financial accounting and reporting, year end audit preparation, budget activities and compliance with the wide range of financial reporting requirements.

Accounting

  • Responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable of all portfolios under management.
  • Maintain general ledger processing; prepare and enter month end and other required journal entries.
  • Review and reconcile monthly transactions and balances for accuracy.
  • Responsible for onboarding new projects to an integrated asset management system.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and budgets.
  • Prepare work papers and various reports for external auditing.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and compliance to internal policies.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Assist in preparation of monthly management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives, including “Budget vs. Actual” variance reports of portfolios under management. Assist in providing follow-up of significant variances.
  • Assist with completion of the quarterly and annual reporting requirements to various parties.

Audits & Examinations

  • Assist with annual external audit and other examinations. Complete requested materials. Assist in preparing assigned schedules for the annual audit.

Administration and Compliance with financing agreements

  • Ensure compliance with various reporting requirements of the projects’ financing agreements.
  • Monitor covenants and interact with the financial counterparties as needed.
  • Assist with the financial close of the financing transactions.

Nautilus Solar Energy’s (NSE) Asset Manager, Operations will be responsible for managing the operations of NSE’s solar installations and directly support the ongoing operations of NSE’s generating portfolio. This position reports to the VP of Asset Management.

Using web-based monitoring tools, the Asset Manager will ensure that the operating portfolio is performing optimally.  The Asset Manager will also be responsible for supporting the development and construction of new solar generating assets. Travel typically less than 25%.  This position is in Summit, NJ.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

Operations

  • Monitor all NSE solar power plants daily, comparing output to expected, logging all alerts
  • Work closely with NSE’s monitoring partner(s) to continuously improve our capabilities and response time
  • Coordinate and track all required repairs
  • Prepare all Compliance Reports for NSE management and Financing Partners.
  • Help develop new requirements, specifications, best practices and tools
  • Upload monthly system generation and track SREC activities

Maintenance

  • Manage Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Agreements for NSE’s generating portfolio.
  • Oversee monthly/quarterly/annual O&M activities, as required.
  • Develop tools, procedures and business relationships to help decrease NSE maintenance costs over time.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and lead development of solar transactions throughout the project life cycle, from identification of PV projects to the start of construction
