Business Development Director


Nautilus Solar Energy's ("NSE") Business Development Director will be responsible for the origination and ongoing development of NSE's solar PV generating portfolio focused on Commercial/Industrial and Distributed Generation power purchase agreement projects located throughout the U.S.

Responsibilities:

  • Originate PPAs with host customers in the targeted regions
  • Target 5-10 MW of new business generated annually
  • Create channel markets and marketing relationships to effectively gain access to customers
  • Represent NSE's interest and create a physical and marketing presence in target markets including participation in local solar associations and other organizations promoting solar power
  • Make site visits and customer visits including in support of Request for Proposals
  • Coordinate the creation of marketing material and customer proposals
  • Support the development team throughout the life cycle of a project from PV project agreement finalization to start of construction
  • Support the negotiation of project documents including: Power Purchase Agreements, Site Lease Agreements and Membership Interest Purchase Agreements as required by the project development team

Requirements:

  • Solid understanding and passion for the solar industry
  • Minimum 3-4 years of work experience in the solar industry in a sales or business development position
  • Other relevant business to business sales experience (particularly energy services or other energy related services) will be strongly considered
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrable ability to understand and communicate technical and commercial concepts
  • Strong business origination capabilities
  • Excellent organizational abilities; able to focus on details while managing multiple projects
  • Able to excel in a highly entrepreneurial environment
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering or business
  • Graduate degree a plus
  • Legally entitled to work in the US

The Business Development Director can be located in target markets including California, the Southeast and the Northeast.
